If you follow the Westchester food scene at all you'll recognize Leila's Crepe Station. They're blowing up on the local food truck circuit and we are so happy they are joining us on Saturday, June 29the for their first visit of the season. The adorable couple—namesake Leila and her husband Nick—are Westchester-born and bred and are part of a new generation elevating the County's food scene. If you haven't had the pleasure of indulging in one of their creations, make a stop at their stall a priority, right after you pick up some cherries from Wright's Apple Farm and zucchini and escarole from Fort Hill Farm.
Also new this week, Hive Juice Lab. A former school bus has been converted to a roving cold-pressed juice bar. Try their Momma Earth juice, a blend of fresh beets, carrots, oranges, celery and ginger, and their Pomodoro, made with tomato, apple, lemon, basil, black pepper, and Himalayan salt. Their Basic B, made with celery, apple, chard, lemon, lime, fresh jalapeno and basil is as righteous as it is popular—perfect pick me up in this kind of weather!
Hallie's Baking Co. is also a new vendor joining us tomorrow. Two sisters who love to bake and have spent literally years in the kitchen together trying to develop the Best. Cookie. Ever. Their customers say they've succeeded. Big enough to share, but too good to want to, their dense chocolate chip cookies are the talk of every market they join. Oh, and their company is named after their rescue dog, a lab mix. What's not to love?
After being featured in Westchester Magazine's farmer's market roundup as a vendor "not to miss" at the CFM, Meadowhawk Granola is back this Saturday just in time for the holiday week. Granola guru Susan Weseen is bringing fresh batches of blackberry almond lavender granola made with lavender and red, white, and blue granola (macadamia nuts, dried strawberries and blueberries, lemon zest and ginger). Buy some as a hostess gift if you are staying with friends over the Fourth or for your own kitchen if you are hosting guests, or just to indulge.
See you at the market!
